While our website is still under construction and our travel collection won't be finalized until September 2024, we've nevertheless decided to create this page, which we hope will be informative and succinct.
So, what is "Terra Gaïa"? From the Greek gè, "earth", and aia, "grandmother". Gaia symbolizes Mother Earth. More recently, Lovelock's Gaia Hypothesis has contributed to a major awareness: that of our individual and collective responsibility for global warming and the preservation of biodiversity.
As a travel professional, it is to this responsibility that we refer when we choose to call ourselves Terra Gaïa. The footprint on our logo also refers to this notion of impact, as a metaphor for the footprint our travels leave on ecosystems, on locals, on our travelers and on us as a tour operator, who do our best to reconcile a taste for travel and sustainability every day.
Is it possible to stop traveling? Is it desirable? What are the impacts of our travels? All these questions have led us to one major conclusion: TRAVEL IS ONLY WORTH IT IF IT IS EXTRAORDINARY.
From now on, this leitmotiv will be our foundation, guiding our every decision.
So here we are, embarking on a new adventure: that of a cherry-picked selection of unique and meaningful travels in which the experience is more important than the destination, a collection of extraordinary journeys that deeply impact those who experience them, whatever their place in history.
